Utah Tech women’s tennis will conclude its 2026 regular season by hosting Colorado Mesa in a double header on Friday, Apr. 10, the university announced on Apr. 8.
The matches are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will take place at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts in St. George, Utah. A senior ceremony honoring Raquel Roshak and Nicole Kells is planned between the two matches.
Colorado Mesa arrives following a three-match road trip to Hawaii, where they posted one win against Hawaii-Hilo and two losses. Sophie Hartman leads the Mavericks with a singles record of 9-4 this season, while Delia Maier and Catalina Ballon have compiled a doubles record of 19-11 for Colorado Mesa. The teams previously met earlier this year on Feb. 27, when Utah Tech won by a score of 7-0.
Utah Tech comes into the match with an overall record of 9-11 (0-1 Western Athletic Conference). Two weekends ago, the Trailblazers split their most recent matches—defeating Montana but falling to Tarleton State—while extending individual win streaks for players such as Maya Inouye and Cameron Hendrix.
The team returns seven letter winners from last year’s squad, including sophomore Maya Inouye who was named Second Team All-WAC for her performance during the previous dual season. Newcomers include freshmen Cameron Hendrix and Ilse Fernanda Elechiguerra Ortega.
Head coach Eric Pelton is currently serving his twentieth season leading Utah Tech women’s tennis, having achieved multiple winning seasons since taking over the program and mentoring several all-conference selections.
This marks Utah Tech’s final year competing in the Western Athletic Conference before joining the Big Sky Conference on July 1, which will maintain nine women’s tennis programs after Sacramento State departs for another conference later this year.
Following Friday’s double header against Colorado Mesa, Utah Tech will travel to Arlington, Texas for the WAC Women’s Tennis Championship scheduled for April 17–18.
