Brie Crittendon matched her career best with 23 points, leading Utah Tech to a 76-55 win over Tarleton State at Burns Arena on Saturday. Four Trailblazer starters scored in double figures as the team secured its second consecutive home victory.
Utah Tech held a narrow 17-15 lead after the first quarter before launching a 15-3 run in the second, building a 36-20 advantage by halftime. Crittendon and point guard Chardonnay Hartley combined for 15 of the team’s 19 points in that period. The Trailblazers’ defense forced five turnovers and limited Tarleton State to just two successful shots out of seventeen attempts during the quarter.
In the third quarter, Utah Tech’s lead grew to ten points before Tarleton State responded with a 15-2 run, cutting the deficit to six following Jakoriah Long’s jumper. Kaylee Borden halted that rally with two free throws late in the period, giving Utah Tech a seven-point cushion entering the fourth.
Paige Cofer opened the final quarter with a three-pointer, starting a decisive 13-2 run for Utah Tech that expanded their lead to eighteen points. The Trailblazers maintained control for the remainder of the game.
Crittendon made seven of nine field goal attempts—including two three-pointers—and was perfect from the free throw line. She also recorded her second double-double of the season with ten rebounds.
Kaylee Borden contributed eighteen points—thirteen after halftime—alongside six assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Crocker added thirteen points and five rebounds while making three shots from beyond the arc during Utah Tech’s key fourth-quarter stretch. Paige Cofer registered her second double-double this season with ten points and eleven rebounds.
The dual double-doubles by Crittendon and Cofer marked just over thirteen months since two Utah Tech players last achieved this feat in one game; both Crittendon and Hartley did so against Seattle U on January 16, 2025.
Utah Tech shot forty percent from the field (26-of-65) and tied its season-high for three-pointers made (11-of-30). The team converted thirteen of eighteen free throws and outrebounded Tarleton State by twelve boards overall—including fifteen offensive rebounds.
Jakoriah Long led Tarleton State with twenty points while Elodie Lutbert posted sixteen points along with ten rebounds. The Texans shot thirty-four percent from the floor (21-of-61) but struggled from long range (3-of-17).
Utah Tech will next travel to Abilene Christian for its final Western Athletic Conference road game in Texas on Thursday, February 26.
