The Utah Tech Trailblazers will finish their regular season by hosting Abilene Christian University on Friday and Saturday at Karl Brooks Field, with a spot in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament at stake, according to an April 29 announcement.
This series is significant as both teams share identical conference records of 3-12. The outcome will determine which team advances to next week’s WAC Tournament. The three-game set begins with a doubleheader on Friday, May 1, starting at 2 p.m., followed by another game at 4:30 p.m. The series concludes on Saturday, May 2, with Senior Day scheduled for noon.
Utah Tech has a historical advantage over Abilene Christian, holding a 7-2 all-time record in their matchups from the past three seasons. At home, the Trailblazers are 2-1 against ACU and won both meetings in St. George last year by scores of 9-6 and 12-9. On the road in Abilene, Utah Tech has gone 5-1 since joining the WAC.
