The Utah Tech Trailblazers lost 11-0 to Tarleton State on April 25 in the series finale at the Tarleton Softball Complex.
This loss marks one of only two times Utah Tech has been shut out during Western Athletic Conference play this season. The team managed three singles from Kinley Pappas, Baylee Howley, and Kamryn Caldwell but was unable to score.
Tarleton State started strong by scoring four runs in the first inning against Trailblazer starting pitcher Sauren Garton, who was removed from the game after that frame. An RBI double added another run for Tarleton in the second inning. The Texans extended their lead with six more runs in the third, ultimately winning by an 11-run margin.
Utah Tech’s record now stands at 16-31 overall and 3-12 in conference play. Meanwhile, Tarleton State improved to a 34-18 overall record and holds a 12-3 mark within the conference.
Looking ahead, Utah Tech will return home next weekend to conclude its regular season by hosting Abilene Christian for games on Friday and Saturday at Karl Brooks Field.
