Utah Tech achieved four top-10 all-time program marks during the first night of the 2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The event took place at the PSJA Natatorium in Pharr, Texas.
The Trailblazers began with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, recording a time of 1:42.45. This performance was the fifth-fastest relay time for that event in school history. Mary Sims Cross contributed with a 50 backstroke leg time of 25.80 seconds, also ranking as the fifth-fastest in program records for that distance. Jenna Tracy, Madeleine McGaughy, and Gabby Henry completed the team’s first race.
In their next event, Utah Tech finished fifth in the 800 freestyle relay. The group—Cera Mallory, Coco Riding, Alyssa Gordon, and Natalia Zmierczak—posted a time of 7:23.93, which is now recognized as the second-fastest relay result for this event in school history.
Cera Mallory opened with a split of 1:49.77 on her leg of the race, marking it as the third-fastest 200 freestyle time ever recorded by a Utah Tech swimmer. The team narrowly missed setting a new school record by just under half a second.
Competition will continue on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. MT with preliminary heats for the 500-yard freestyle event; finals are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. MT.
