Utah Tech Football will start its 2026 spring camp on Tuesday, March 17, as the team prepares for its seventh season in NCAA Division I FCS and its first year competing in the Big Sky Conference, according to a March 14 announcement.
The upcoming season marks a significant milestone for Utah Tech as it joins the Big Sky Conference. The program is looking to build momentum with a mix of returning players and new talent.
Head coach Lance Anderson enters his third year leading the Trailblazers and will oversee 14 formal practices during spring camp. The camp will conclude with the annual spring game at Greater Zion Stadium on Saturday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Anderson’s squad includes 23 returning letter winners from last season—10 on offense (six starters), 12 on defense (seven starters), and one special teams player—as well as 40 redshirts, with nearly half having seen game action last year. Additionally, the team welcomes 35 newcomers: 18 offensive players, 16 defensive players, and one specialist.
The Trailblazers’ schedule features five home games at Greater Zion Stadium and seven road games. Their season opener and Big Sky debut will be at home against Montana State, the reigning Division I FCS champion, on August 29. The following week, Utah Tech travels to Provo to face BYU of the Big 12 Conference. Other notable matchups include games against Montana in Missoula and Northern Arizona at home before resuming conference play with several road contests.
Key rivalry games are also scheduled, including the “Battle For The Axe” against Southern Utah on October 3 at Greater Zion Stadium. The regular season concludes with an away game against Weber State in Ogden on November 21. Game times for all matches have not yet been determined, and ticket information will be released in coming months.
The full list of spring practice dates has been published by Utah Tech Athletics. All sessions are set for Greater Zion Stadium but are subject to change.
