Utah Tech finished in fifth place at the final Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Golf Championships, which concluded on April 22 at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch Hills Course in McKinney, Texas.
The event marked the end of the 2025-26 season for Utah Tech’s women’s golf team. The Trailblazers posted their best round on the last day with a combined score of 10-over-par 298, moving up one spot to finish with a three-day total of plus-56, or 920 strokes.
Tarleton State secured the championship title with a total score of plus-25 (889), finishing ahead of Abilene Christian and UT Arlington. California Baptist edged out Utah Tech by eight strokes for fourth place. Utah Valley and Southern Utah rounded out the field in sixth and seventh positions respectively.
Senior Jane Olson led Utah Tech individually, finishing tied for 14th after carding rounds of 74, 78, and a final-round 77. Olson’s performance capped her collegiate career with her second top-15 finish this season and fourth overall during her four years. Juniors Mia Cesarek and Samantha Phelan both tied for 16th place at plus-14 (230). Phelan matched the team’s lowest round in the tournament with a one-over-par 73 that included three birdies and eleven pars. Sophomore Maria Purroy Galan also posted a final-round 73 to tie for 18th place after birdieing three of her last ten holes. Redshirt freshman Gabrielle Roznicki climbed two spots to finish solo in thirty-first place.
This championship concludes Utah Tech’s sixth season competing at NCAA Division I level. Over ten events this year, they recorded six top-six finishes including a runner-up showing at the Utah Fall Intercollegiate held September last year.
As this was the last WAC Women’s Golf Championship event, it marks an endpoint for participating teams under this conference format.
