The results mark another setback for Utah Tech, which now holds a record of 16-27 overall and 3-8 in Western Athletic Conference play. The Mavericks improved to 20-21 overall and 8-6 in conference games.

In the first game, Utah Tech led by three runs after five innings, but surrendered fourteen unanswered runs as UT Arlington rallied late.
