CERT Classes
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train citizens in basic response skills. CERT members are then integrated into the emergency response capability of their neighborhoods as CERT citizen volunteers.
Being prepared for a disaster is not just having supplies on hand. It is important to have the skills to take care of yourself, family and neighbors when Emergency Responders may be delayed.
Learn how to stay safe and what you can do to help without becoming part of the emergency.
If you have taken the CERT course in the past, it is recommended that you retake it every two years to update your skills and knowledge.
As of January 2011 FEMA and Citizen Corps have updated the training information for the Community Emergency Response Team program, including a new CERT manual. Existing CERT Members are welcome to come to any class as a refresher or to make-up for any class missed.
