79 percent of applicants to Southern Utah University were admitted for fall 2018

At Southern Utah University, 77 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Cedar City enrolled 10,196 students in fall 2018, including 9,271 in undergraduate and 925 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

73 percent of undergraduates are residents of Utah, and 23 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (6 percent).

The school admitted 79 percent of the 12,435 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 21 percent enrolled.
