Members of the Southern Utah University women’s basketball team received several Western Athletic Conference (WAC) postseason awards on March 10, as announced by the conference.
The recognition highlights the achievements of four Thunderbirds players during the 2025-26 season. Junior Ava Uhrich was named to the All-WAC First Team, while sophomore Sierra Chambers and junior Brooklyn Fely earned spots on the All-WAC Second Team. Freshman Devyn Kiernan was selected for the All-WAC Freshman Team.
Head Coach Tracy Mason said: “I think these ladies are extremely deserving of these awards. They’ve put in a lot of work since we set foot on the court in the summer. This is a team that was picked last in the preseason poll, and they’ve taken that personally every single day. They show up ready to compete and play like they have something to prove. I couldn’t be more proud of this group and this team.”
Uhrich led the conference with an average of 9.9 rebounds per game and added 14.2 points per game, shooting 46.6% from the field—second among WAC players with at least five field goals per game. She recorded ten double-doubles, tying her teammate Fely for second in the conference, and achieved career highs with 30 points against UT Arlington and 18 rebounds against Utah Tech.
Chambers averaged 15.1 points and 3.8 assists per game, ranking fifth in both categories within the WAC. She led all players in made free throws with 144 and had a streak of 43 consecutive successful free throws before conference play began.
Fely contributed significantly after transferring from Umpqua Community College, averaging 12.7 points per game on a team-best shooting percentage of 47.8%. She also ranked third in rebounds per game (8.4) and matched Uhrich’s ten double-doubles.
Kiernan started every regular-season game as a freshman, averaging 7.5 points per contest while leading her team with fifty three-point shots made at a rate of over forty percent.
Tickets for the upcoming Air Force Reserve WAC Basketball Tournament are available online.
