The Southern Utah University men’s golf team will travel to McKinney, Texas, for the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship from April 27 to April 29.
This event marks both the team’s last tournament of the season and their final appearance in the WAC Men’s Golf Championship. The competition will take place at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club, a par-72 course measuring 7,300 yards.
Teams participating include Abilene Christian, California Baptist, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, UT Arlington, Utah Tech and Utah Valley. Each team will field five players per round with coaches permitted to substitute one player before each round. The format consists of three rounds of 18 holes each day with the top four scores counting toward the team total.
Southern Utah’s lineup features Uy Doan, Braylon Bingham, Charlie Gillespie, Jing-Cheng (Jarell) Wang and Sky Moon. Luke Barnes is listed as a substitute. Doan leads Southern Utah with a scoring average of 72.4 over 30 rounds this season and has achieved four top-10 finishes—including tied for eighth and fifth places in two recent tournaments. Bingham follows with an average score of 73.5 per round while Gillespie averages 74.2 strokes per round.
Wang completes the top four with an average score of 75.7 while Barnes holds a scoring average of 78.5; Moon averages just under 80 strokes per round.
