The Southern Utah University men’s golf team announced on April 8 the signing of two incoming freshmen, Michael Stirland and David “Charles” Serdenia, who will join the roster for the 2026-27 season.

The addition of these athletes aims to strengthen the team’s lineup with local and international talent. The signings include Stirland from Hurricane, Utah, and Serdenia from Taguig City in the Philippines.

Stirland returns to competitive golf after his mission and has participated in several amateur events across Utah. His most notable recent performance was a third-place finish at the St. George Amateur tournament. He graduated from Hurricane High School and stands at six feet one inch tall.

Serdenia brings international experience to Southern Utah’s program. He attended Senior High School in Barangay Fort Bonifacio and is recognized as an accomplished amateur golfer with fourteen top-10 finishes in official World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) events, including three wins. At his peak, he reached a ranking of 666th globally and is currently ranked 1,582nd. Serdenia stands five feet eleven inches tall.

Both athletes are expected to contribute significantly when they begin their collegiate careers with Southern Utah University’s men’s golf team during the upcoming season.
