For the fifth time this season, Southern Utah University’s women’s gymnastics team has swept the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation’s weekly awards. Following their 196.925 win over UC Davis, three athletes received individual recognition: junior Niya Randolph was named Gymnast of the Week, sophomore Mia Hampton earned Specialist of the Week honors, and freshman Berlin Hall was selected as Freshman of the Week.

This is the second time this season that Randolph, Hampton, and Hall have collectively taken all three MPSF weekly awards. Both Randolph and Hall have now received five conference honors each during this campaign, while Hampton collected her third Specialist award.

Randolph led her team with a first-place all-around score of 39.450, including top performances on vault (9.875), bars (9.875), beam (9.800), and floor (9.900). Her results contributed to Southern Utah setting a new MPSF vault record and maintaining an undefeated record in home conference meets.

Hampton achieved a career-high score of 9.925 on beam, tied for first on bars with a 9.875, and added a 9.850 on floor exercise. Her scores provided important contributions to the team’s overall performance.

Hall posted a 9.850 on floor during the meet’s final rotation, supporting Southern Utah’s highest team total of the season.

Southern Utah continues its preparations for the upcoming MPSF Championships later this month.

The team will return to action at home against the University of Washington on Friday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. MT at America First Event Center. The meet will be streamed online via overnght.com with live statistics available at virti.us.

Tickets for the MPSF Championship are currently available for purchase at tbirdtickets.com.
