Southern Utah University’s women’s gymnastics team will host the University of Washington for its final regular-season meet on Friday, March 6, at the America First Event Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on overnght.com, with live statistics available via virti.us. A special Senior Night ceremony honoring the team’s senior class will take place following the fourth rotation.

The Southern Utah squad enters this matchup after a recent loss to Utah State, where they posted a score of 195.725 against Utah State’s 196.875. Notable performances included junior Rylee Miller tying for first on bars with a career-high score of 9.875 and earning second place on beam with a personal-best 9.900. Sophomore Emma Nipper won beam with a career-high 9.925, while freshman Berlin Hall took first on floor with a score of 9.900. Mia Hampton and Carilia Martinez both tied for second on floor, each scoring 9.875.

The University of Washington Huskies are currently ranked No. 36 nationally, highlighted by their No. 30 ranking on floor and No. 33 ranking on beam events; vault and bars are both ranked No. 39 nationally for the team. In their most recent competition at the Big Four Quad Meet, Washington finished fourth with a score of 194.425 against Penn State, Michigan, and Nebraska—a result that followed a close loss to Minnesota in which they achieved their second-highest team total this season (196.300). The Huskies’ strengths remain in beam and floor routines as they look to regain early-season form ahead of postseason competition.

Southern Utah holds several distinctions in national and conference rankings this season: the program is ranked No. 26 nationally overall; vault is ranked No. 33 (48.907 average), floor is No. 23 (49.154 average), bars is No. 27 (48.943 average), and beam stands at No. 25 (48.946 average). SUU leads its conference—the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF)—in all four apparatus categories so far this year.

The Flippin’ Birds have also collected numerous individual honors during the season, sweeping MPSF Weekly awards five times out of eight weeks and amassing eighteen Conference Weekly awards among athletes such as Randolph (5), Hall (5), Hampton (3), Pardue (2), Bringhurst (1), Collum (1), and Routsis (1). In addition, Southern Utah became the first program in MPSF history to sweep all five major end-of-year awards in one season last year.

Notable accolades include Niya Randolph being named MPSF Gymnast of the Year for her second consecutive year; Mia Hampton receiving Freshman of the Year after winning eight Freshman of the Week honors; head coach Scotty Bauman recognized as Head Coach of the Year for leading SUU to a top-21 national ranking; assistant coaches Jamie Wysong and Jeff Richards honored for guiding top-ranked squads across multiple events.

The team has achieved three consecutive conference championships—winning their final title in their previous conference before moving to MPSF—and has already secured two titles since joining their new league.

This season’s high team score stands at 196.925, with standout individual performances including Niya Randolph’s all-around mark of 39.500 and her best floor routine score of 9.925 against Oregon State; Kayla Pardue holding top vault honors at SUU with a score of 9.925; Hampton, Collum, and Randolph sharing top marks on bars at 9.900; Hall and Randolph leading floor scores at SUU with matching marks; while Hampton shares top beam honors alongside Nipper at SUU this year.
