Southern Utah University senior long snapper Gavin Lipkin has been invited to participate in rookie minicamps with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings, according to an April 27 announcement from the university.
Lipkin will have two chances to earn a spot in a National Football League organization. He is scheduled to attend the Raiders’ camp first, followed by a trip to Minnesota for the Vikings’ minicamp. These invitations provide him an opportunity to continue his football career at the professional level.
“Getting an opportunity with both the Raiders and the Vikings means everything to me,” Lipkin said. “I’ve put a lot of work into mastering my craft at Southern Utah, and now it’s about taking advantage of every rep, every snap, and showing I can compete at the highest level. I’m just grateful for the chance and ready to show them what I can do and make Cedar City proud.”
Lipkin played high school football at Arbor View High School in Las Vegas before joining Southern Utah University. He has appeared in every game since 2022 for Southern Utah’s team, earning Preseason All-UAC honors as well as recognition on Phil Steele’s Preseason First Team All-UAC list during his senior season. He finished that year as a Second Team All-UAC selection while also being recognized academically as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree and Academic All-America finalist.
During his senior campaign in 2024, Lipkin played all 12 games, recording five tackles while serving as long snapper on special teams—a role that contributed significantly to kicker Jayden Rogers setting a school record by making all 48 point-after-touchdown attempts that season.
As he prepares for these NFL opportunities—first with his hometown team in Las Vegas—Lipkin aims to demonstrate consistency and reliability developed over years with Southern Utah’s program.
