Utah Tech redshirt senior guard Kaylee Borden has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) women’s basketball Newcomer of the Week. This is the second time Borden has received this honor during the current season, with her previous recognition coming on November 24, 2025.

During Utah Tech’s two-game home sweep last week, Borden averaged 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. She recorded a shooting percentage of 45.7 percent from the field and made nearly half of her three-point attempts.

Borden scored a career-high 29 points in Utah Tech’s narrow win over UT Arlington last Wednesday, including making two free throws with just 1.5 seconds left to secure a 60-58 victory for her team. She made ten out of seventeen shots from the field, four three-pointers, and contributed four rebounds and two steals.

In Saturday’s game against Tarleton State, Borden added another strong performance with 18 points—13 of which came in the second half—as Utah Tech won decisively by a score of 76-55. She also set new career highs with six assists and three steals while collecting four rebounds.

As the regular season nears its end, Borden ranks as the WAC’s second-leading scorer at an average of 15.6 points per game. She is also among the conference leaders in several statistical categories: fifth in free throw percentage (.756), sixth in field goal percentage (.408), ninth in made three-pointers per game (1.60), tenth in assists (2.56 per game), and eighteenth in rebounding (4.44 per game).

Utah Tech will travel to Texas for their final road trip as members of the WAC to face Abilene Christian this Thursday night.
