Utah Tech junior outfielder Hudson Manwaring was named University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, according to a May 11 announcement.
The recognition comes after Manwaring’s strong performance in Utah Tech’s recent road series at UT Arlington. The award highlights his contributions to the team’s success and acknowledges his achievements during the three-game set.
Manwaring batted .714 (10-for-14) over the weekend, recording two doubles, five runs batted in, and three runs scored. He went 2-for-3 in Friday’s opener before delivering a career-high five RBI on Saturday with a bases-clearing three-run double during Utah Tech’s 16-4 victory. On Sunday, he added four more hits, another double, and two runs scored.
He has now hit safely in seven consecutive games and in 15 of his last 18 starts overall. During this stretch, he has collected eleven multi-hit outings (32-for-73), raising his season batting average by over sixty points to .327 as Utah Tech approaches the final week of the regular season.
Utah Tech holds a record of 30-21 overall and is 7-8 in conference play. The team will conclude its road schedule this Tuesday afternoon with an away game against Utah at Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark on the Utah campus. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
