Southern Utah senior Bronis MacDougall was named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on March 25.

The recognition comes after MacDougall’s standout performance at the Utah Tech Invitational, where he won the javelin event with a throw of 66.16 meters (217-0). This result not only earned him first place but also moved him to fourth all-time in Southern Utah program history.

MacDougall’s achievement marks a strong start to the outdoor season for Southern Utah. His performance led the men’s throws group and established one of the top marks in the conference during opening weekend. The throw positioned him among early WAC leaders and provided momentum for his team as they prepare for upcoming competitions.

This is MacDougall’s first WAC weekly honor this season and represents the first such award for any Thunderbird athlete this year.

Southern Utah is scheduled to compete next at the UVU Collegiate Invite in Orem, Utah, on March 26.
