Senior guard Britton Berrett was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to a March 24 announcement. Berrett completed his two-year career at Utah Tech this season and was recognized for both his athletic performance and academic achievements.
The award highlights student-athletes who excel on the court and in the classroom. Berrett, from Rigby, Idaho, played in all 34 games for the Trailblazers during the season, making 17 starts. He averaged 5.3 points per game and logged an average of 23.1 minutes per contest. Over his Utah Tech career, he appeared in 57 games with a total of 256 points scored.
Berrett demonstrated strong shooting skills by connecting on nearly 44 percent from the field and over 40 percent from three-point range this season. He also led in free throw accuracy with a rate of more than 92 percent. His best scoring performance came with a career-high of 17 points against Santa Clara on December 3.
In addition to his athletic contributions, Berrett holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 as a finance major. He began his collegiate basketball journey at College of Southern Idaho before transferring to Utah Tech for two seasons.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America program recognizes men’s basketball honorees across four divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced April 14.
